Job Title: Energy Transition R&D Project Manager

RINA is seeking a highly skilled Energy Transition R&D Project Manager to join its team in Genova or Rome. As a key member of the Cyber Security and Management Consulting Division, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of R&D projects in the field of energy transition services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline the scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines of R&D projects.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project requirements and success criteria.
  • Ensure strict adherence to guidelines and requirements set forth by International and European funding agencies for public-funded projects.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to meet project goals.
  • Lead and motivate interdisciplinary project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including funding agencies, consortium partners, and internal management.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may impact project success.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial control.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including meeting minutes, technical reports, and financial records.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree or Doctorate/PHD in Engineering General or Energy Engineering.
  • Background knowledge in energy engineering, such as energy modelling or optimization of industrial processes, assets, buildings or communities, renewable energy sources, sustainable storage and distribution.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in R&D settings.
  • Specific experience managing projects funded by external sources, such as European Commission, national government, private foundations, or industry partnerships.
  • Proficiency in budgeting for R&D projects, including creating budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks associated with R&D projects, especially those related to external funding requirements.
