Job Title: Central Cost Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Central Cost Lead to join our Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing commercial management services for our EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with sub-regional leads to maintain consistent application of cost processes and implementation across the EMEA region.
  • Be the EMEA region point of contact for globally driven improvement initiatives, agreeing and aligning with sub-regional leads on implementation into projects for pilot and roll out.
  • Coordinate each initiative, managing inputs from sub-regions to track progress and collate EMEA-wide reporting to meet global requirements.
  • Provide constructability reports and site-specific comparative estimates on candidate sites, as well as all funding and PO support necessary for the site selection team to perform in the region.
  • Offer commercial support on business cases, value engineering studies, and change control as the design evolves from POR through to final design.
  • Manage process and coordinate all project baseline design changes during project-specific design development, providing as-needed reports identifying the cost of any POR/Baseline design changes.
  • Provision of all commercial data to support Microsoft Change Management process.
  • Prepare regular Cost Status updates and provide commercial input for Stage Gate approvals and Senior Management briefings.
  • Support to, and coordination with, program and project management, procurement, design, and estimating teams.
  • Provide monthly Final Reports for all pre-construction projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction management, Project Controls, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a matrix environment within a large organization.
  • Proven experience of commercial management role on a major construction portfolio.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commercial knowledge of construction internationally.
  • MS Excel proficiency.
  • People management experience.
  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) full membership or equivalent.
