About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Post-doctoral Researcher to join our team at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genova, Italy. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary group working on the development of novel solutions for robotics and human-computer interaction.

Project Overview

The project aims to develop and integrate technologies in immersive mixed-reality experiences to train and prevent accidents and protect workers working at heights. The candidate will build on recent results achieved in using mixed reality interfaces for training and will conduct scholarly research, publish academic papers, and collaborate with other research groups to advance the state-of-the-art.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in mixed reality and human-computer interaction
  • Develop and integrate technologies in immersive mixed-reality experiences
  • Collaborate with other research groups to advance the state-of-the-art
  • Publish academic papers and present research at international conferences
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop novel solutions for robotics and human-computer interaction
Requirements
  • PhD in Computer Science or a related field, specializing in Human-Computer Interaction in Mixed reality environments
  • Demonstrative expertise in interactive technologies, with peer-reviewed publications on the topic in international venues
  • Experience with interactive and immersive user interaction systems using mixed reality systems, e.g., Unity, Unreal, etc.
  • Proficiency in computer graphics programming
  • Required experience with version control software, e.g., git, svn
  • Strong team player, able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary, international research team and carry out tasks autonomously
  • Strong communication and English language skills (both written and spoken)
