Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Engineer to join our team in South Europe. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing new sales opportunities within the allocated territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate business leads through cold calling, site visits, and industry events, and pursue, nurture, and close all leads.
  • Meet with customers, collect installed-base information, and maximize the given information to retrieve dormant customers.
  • Propose maintenance activities, such as inspections, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and refurbishment, and promote the sale of spare parts.
  • Provide technical support by liaising with experts within the Cavotec organization and win customer confidence.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to explain products and services to customers.
  • Work with customers and Commercial Sales Support/System Sales Managers to ensure product/service offerings meet customer requirements.
  • Negotiate and close service and new product opportunities.
  • Meet assigned profitable sales targets and build and maintain a sales pipeline tracked on the CRM system.
  • Support the Regional Sales Director in developing a business plan and assist in the development of the annual marketing plan.

Requirements

  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience with industrial equipment.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer or similar commercial experience.
  • Proven experience or training in value solution selling is a plus.
  • Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Technical degree desired, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in industrial products or service selling, particularly in the ports and maritime market.
  • Good interpersonal skills and commercially savvy.
  • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with key technical or mid-management decision makers.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English and Spanish is required for success in this role.
