About the Role

Nordson EFD is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Technical Area Sales Manager in West Italy. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating sustainable and predictable revenue growth by leveraging Nordson EFD's product portfolio to meet customer needs and create new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a detailed territory map, reviewing it quarterly with the Regional Manager.
  • Assess customer needs and provide tailored solutions, responding to complex customer inquiries.
  • Work closely with customers to complete application questionnaires and submit them for review and approval.
  • Prepare system application offers and quotes, maintaining accurate data and records in C4C CRM.
  • Negotiate prices and delivery times, concluding sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Maintain customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, on-budget, and on-specification.
  • Identify, research, and contact prospective customers, building positive relationships to generate future sales and repeat business.
  • Promote the Nordson EFD brand, product portfolio, and application solutions to achieve yearly active customer basis growth, in collaboration with the Marketing Department.
  • Report sales leads, customer feedback, and competitor activity to relevant contacts within the organization.
  • Establish monthly sales plans and forecasts, prioritizing and scheduling activities to meet targets.
  • Provide detailed inputs for bi-weekly sales forecasts and monthly project pipeline reporting, indicating application details, due dates, and sales stages.
  • Participate in trade shows, support marketing activities, and organize local customer events, presentations, and roadshows.
  • Utilize tailgate and demo products to present solutions independently to customers, meeting company requirements.
  • Ensure agreed credit terms are met with accounts receivable.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of solution-based selling capabilities, from developing customer needs to project follow-up and delivery.
  • Proper education enabling complete and thorough job performance (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Automotive, Material Science or Engineering, General Technical Education, Sales, Marketing, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of recent field sales experience in business-to-business, preferably capital sales equipment, with a proven track record of owning a large customer list (at least 100 customers) and developing and growing those accounts and sales.
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Good analytical skills, able to deal with technical queries and applications.
  • Strategic thinking and skills to set and perform long-term actions.
  • Able to set and follow priorities.
  • Able to manage work independently, oriented on results.
  • Flexible in working actions and time management.
  • Able to work with people at all organizational levels.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), SAP, Business Explorer, Workday, BW, and C4C.
  • Team player approach and behavior.
Travel

50% travel across North Western, West, and South Western Italy.
