About the Role

Nordson Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team in Italy. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating sustainable and predictable revenue growth by utilizing our product portfolio to meet customer needs and create new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a detailed territory map and review it quarterly with the Regional Manager.
  • Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services, responding to complex customer application inquiries.
  • Work closely with customers to complete application questionnaires and submit them to the System Manager for review and approval.
  • Prepare system application offers and quotes, record, and maintain data in the C4C CRM.
  • Negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Maintain customer relationships throughout the life of the project to ensure timely delivery, on budget, and on specification.
  • Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships to generate future sales and repeat business.
  • Promote the Nordson Corporation brand name, product portfolio, and application solutions to achieve yearly active customer basis growth with additional revenue growth in cooperation with the Marketing Department.
  • Report sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization.
  • Establish monthly sales plans and sales forecasts to discuss with the Regional Manager, prioritize, and schedule activities to meet targets.
  • Provide detailed inputs for bi-weekly sales forecasts and monthly Project Pipeline Reporting by Active opportunities/customer, indicating details of application, due dates, and sales stages with comments to move forward and close projects successfully.
  • Participate in trade shows on behalf of the company, support all Marketing activities focused on the given Area of sales, organize, and manage local customer events, presentations, and roadshows.
  • Use tailgate and demo products to present them independently in front of customers at a level required by the company.
  • Work with accounts receivable to ensure agreed credit terms are met.

Requirements

  • Proper education enabling the performance of the job completely and thoroughly (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Automotive, Material Science or Engineering, General Technical Education, Sales, Marketing, or equivalent).
  • Solution-based selling capabilities, from developing customer needs to project follow-up and delivery.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent field sales experience in a business-to-business, preferably capital sales equipment with a proven track record of owning a large customer list (at least 100 customers) and developing and growing those accounts and those accounts sales.
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Good analytical skills, able to deal with technical queries and applications.
  • Strategic thinking and skills to set and perform long-term actions.
  • Able to set and follow priorities.
  • Able to manage work independently oriented on results.
  • Flexible in working actions and time management.
  • Able to work with people at all organizational levels.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), SAP, Business Explorer, Workday, BW, and C4C.
  • Team player approach and behavior.

Travel

50% across North Western, West, and South Western Italy.
