The Role
We're looking for a Head of Grocery to join our team. This is a rare opportunity to become a leader within an important business unit. As a senior commercial profile, you'll be responsible for growing a significant portion of Deliveroo's revenue. Your role will be commercially focused, but you'll work cross-functionally with teams including Operations, Marketing, and Product to ensure success. The role is based in Milan, with at least 3 days a week to be worked from the office.

Responsibilities
1) Execute the strategic vision and develop operational plans for the Grocery vertical across Italy.
2) Own the Profit and Loss (P&L) to ensure we hit revenue and profit targets. Achieve financial and growth targets with an understanding of how to trade off commercial, marketing, and operational levers.
3) Own the quarterly planning process and work with the HQ Strategy & Finance team to develop accurate forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.
4) Work closely with the Key Accounts and Marketing & Merchandising functions to develop a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business and how to optimize for growth.
5) Liaise with our Operations and Marketing teams to drive efficiencies, improve customer outcomes, and accelerate revenue growth.
6) Work closely with the 'New Businesses' leadership team and other groups at Deliveroo to deliver high-impact projects.
7) Lead a team of Account Managers and Business Developers.

Requirements
We're looking for a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and team management experience with experience exceeding financial targets. You'll have a background in commercially focused roles with P&L and people management responsibility. Experience in the Grocery, Retail, and/or FMCG sectors is a plus. You'll have experience in growing performance through effective trading as well as delivering on budget and against a long-term strategy. You'll have a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of P&L statements, and the ability to trade off between line items. You'll have commercial and marketing acumen, with a deep knowledge of industry trends, competition, best practices, and other factors that affect profitability and business success. You'll be able to rapidly understand how our business operates, makes money, and sustains profitable growth. You'll have executional excellence, having achieved clear customer, commercial, and financial results with a strong resilient entrepreneurial spirit. You'll be customer-obsessed, understanding and connecting with our customers. You'll believe in our ability to create services and products that address our customers' needs and have their best interests at heart. You'll be comfortable working with autonomy, happy to be pointed at problems, and work out how to solve them. You'll have a 'can-do' and 'will-do' attitude. You'll be a stakeholder management expert, engaging, informing, and gaining the support of various stakeholders. You'll be upbeat, confident, and high-energy, bringing freshness, energy, and passion into the team.
