Job Summary

JAS Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Lane Director to join our team. As a Trade Lane Director, you will be responsible for driving the overall volume growth of assigned trade lanes, ensuring targeted growth is achieved in coordination with Sales and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trade Lane Management: Plan and manage demand and supply in designated trade lanes to achieve volume growth targets.
  • Target Setting: Set volume growth targets together with WST, WOT, and WAT teams.
  • Volume Growth: Achieve volume growth targets and protect existing business.
  • RFQ Engagement: Engage in relevant RFQs related to designated lanes, assist RFQ teams, and establish a competitive pricing strategy to increase win ratio.
  • Pricing Strategy: Challenge and validate proposed target selling rates for assigned trade lanes and align with product teams.
  • Cargo and Carrier Mix: Develop strategies to optimize cargo and carrier mix to improve profitability in the lane.
  • Market Knowledge: Keep abreast of industry changes, market situation, and customer requirements, and update working colleagues within geographies on market condition changes.
  • Product Development: Develop new products and services to increase volumes.
  • Reporting: Provide monthly reporting for sales activity on assigned trade lanes.
  • Customer Support: Serve as first point of contact for commercial questions from sales, branches, and operations teams.
  • Quarterly Progress Report: Prepare and present quarterly action plan and progress report to WST, WOT, and WAT teams.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of successful international freight forwarding sales/operations experience.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal skills, strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and Wintouch, detail-oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines, self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently, strong negotiating skills, able to travel extensively domestically and internationally, safe driving record, and extra languages may be required.
Work Environment

This position requires 100% performance in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be required in support of the position's responsibilities.
