Key Responsibilities

As an AWS Data Engineer within our Data Intelligence Line, you will engage in AWS Data Platform projects, collaborating closely with business analysts and solution architects to comprehend use cases, data requirements, and desired outcomes. Your contributions will include:

  • Analyzing the existing application infrastructure and proposing enhancements.
  • Documenting best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure upkeep.
  • Executing infrastructure migrations with zero downtime to ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Establishing a comprehensive monitoring stack, utilizing tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack.
  • Formulating service capacity planning strategies.
  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines for applications using the AWS CI/CD suite.
  • Developing infrastructure as code with CloudFormation or similar technologies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a cloud-native environment, preferably with at least 5 years on AWS.
  • Familiarity with Big Data Architectures, both cloud-based and on-premises.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes; prior use of ECS/EKS is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of serverless architectures utilizing AWS Lambda.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, including IAM Roles and KMS.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and networking.
  • Experience in migrating workloads from on-premises to cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in monitoring distributed infrastructures using AWS tools or open-source alternatives.
  • Demonstrated programming skills in Java, Scala, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies and Kanban frameworks.
  • AWS Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or AWS Certified Developer.
