JOB PURPOSE

As a member of the Programmes Management and Development department, the Regional Portfolio Manager (RPM) leads the development, management, and oversight of the assigned portfolio under the guidance of their supervisor.

The RPM plays a crucial role in:

  • Portfolio Development and management
  • Awards management and Financial monitoring.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Portfolio development and management
  • Overseeing the Portfolio for the designated Countries and serving as the primary contact for the Country Office (CO)/Member Senior Management Team (SMT) regarding portfolio management and development.
  • Supporting business development and donor engagement in collaboration with the Regional Portfolio Lead.
  • Ensuring alignment of opportunities with Regional and COs programme priorities.
  • Identifying and establishing partnerships for programs in the region.
  • Monitoring progress of SC Italy funded projects and providing guidance to implementation teams.
  • Contributing to risk assessment processes.
  • Coordinating with other departments on specific projects.
  • Identifying best practices and innovative approaches for project development and management.
  • Analyzing funding opportunities and participating in internal decision-making processes.
  • Award and Financial Management
  • Handling administrative tasks associated with creating, monitoring, and closing out awards.
  • Ensuring compliance with Donor requirements and internal standards in coordination with the Grants Unit.
  • Monitoring project budgets and providing programmatic information for advocacy purposes.
  • Designing, overseeing, and monitoring the budget for the assigned geographic area.
  • Assisting in fund allocation and monitoring.
  • Contributing to the overall Award Management processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in development cooperation/humanitarian aid in a program management role
  • At least 2 years of overseas experience in the development cooperation/humanitarian aid sector
  • Fluency in Italian and English required
  • Knowledge of French, Spanish, or Portuguese considered an asset
  • Experience in HQ operations is advantageous
  • Proficiency in proposal development, report writing, and working with institutional donors
  • Experience in project cycle management and budget oversight
