About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Guest Service Associate to join our team at Marriott International. In this role, you will be the face of our brand, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and respond to their inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
- Manage guest requests and complaints in accordance with our service culture.
- Use visual cues to seat guests in either the bar or dining area, depending on their preference.
- Inform guests of current promotions and ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff.
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service.
- Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, providing accurate wait times to incoming guests.
- Attend to special guest needs and requests.
- Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies.
- Assist the dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water, and serving beverages.
- Issue dining charges by verifying orders, calculating taxes, and totaling bills for to-go orders.
- Receive payments by validating credit charges, approving checks, and calculating and issuing change for to-go orders.
- Reconcile the cash drawer by verifying cash transactions, listing checks, and credit card charges for to-go orders.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and brand identity guidelines.
- Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards and policies.
- Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills, with a focus on providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Basic knowledge of the hospitality industry and its practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business.
- Availability to work late nights, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
