Position Overview

Hitachi Rail is seeking a motivated and dynamic Mechanical Systems Integrator who excels in a high-energy setting. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a variety of responsibilities within the Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate the technical design of systems during project bidding and development.
  • Develop specifications for mechanical system requirements.
  • Evaluate technical proposals from suppliers.
  • Review the technical descriptions of systems.
  • Verify drawings and documents (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for installation and integration.
  • Assess FEM analysis reports.
  • Prepare and verify performance test specifications.
  • Assist in system type testing.
  • Support on-board integration testing.
  • Conduct design reviews with clients and suppliers.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, as well as bolted and riveted connections.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with standard office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Experience with mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, etc.) and IBM DOORS for requirements management.
  • Understanding of engineering processes and railway operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and multitasking international environment.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team on projects.
  • Willingness to travel for short-term national and international assignments.

Education and Qualifications:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is required. Technical high school graduation may also be considered.

Language Proficiency:

Proficient written and spoken English is essential, with a minimum of international B2 level proficiency.
