Position Overview

Hitachi Rail is seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior Vehicle Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience, who excels in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a variety of responsibilities within the Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate technical design efforts during project bidding and development.
  • Draft and refine specifications for mechanical system requirements.
  • Evaluate technical proposals from suppliers.
  • Review and validate the technical descriptions of systems.
  • Verify documentation and drawings (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for onboard installation and integration.
  • Assess FEM analysis reports.
  • Develop and confirm performance testing specifications.
  • Provide support during system type testing.
  • Assist in onboard integration testing.
  • Conduct design reviews with clients and suppliers.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, as well as bolted and riveted connections.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is essential.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Familiarity with mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, etc.) and IBM DOORS for requirements management.
  • Understanding of engineering processes and railway operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and multitasking international environment.
  • Capacity to work independently and within teams on various projects.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally on short notice.

Education and Qualifications

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field is required.

Language Proficiency
