Job Title: Commis de Rang Wine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commis de Rang Wine Specialist to join our team at Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel. As a key member of our restaurant team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service and supporting the Chef de Rang in delivering a flawless dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill operational duties in accordance with company policies, high standards, and procedures.
  • Assist the Chef de Rang with service, ensuring seamless execution of wine-related activities.
  • Monitor customer experiences, from restaurant layout to service delivery, and take proactive steps to enhance the service.
  • Support the Sommelier with wine-related tasks and maintain a high level of knowledge about wine.
Requirements:
  • Effective communication: communicate clearly and appropriately, both verbally and non-verbally.
  • Emotional intelligence: demonstrate sensitivity to guests' and colleagues' needs and emotions, and adjust your style accordingly.
  • Adaptability: identify when a different approach is needed and offer solutions.
  • Collaboration: work as a team player, share information and skills, and actively seek and provide feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fluent in Italian and basic level of English.
  • Tourism or Hospitality degree preferred.
  • Previous professional experience in a similar role, including school internships.
  • Passion for service and ambition to grow professionally.
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Good knowledge of wines (AIS certification is a plus).
Benefits:
  • Seasonal Labour contract according to C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo - Level 6s, Commis de Rang.
  • Start date: July 2024 to End date: October 2024, with the aim of a continuous collaboration over subsequent seasons at Splendido and a career path.
  • Salary as per CCNL, separate payslip for 13°, 14°, and TFR.
