Job Overview

As the Ocean Export Team Leader, you will be pivotal in steering the success of our team at BDP International. Your role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of our ocean export services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of the team's overall performance by establishing, executing, and tracking both individual and collective objectives while ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Assess team performance and operational activities regularly.
  • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide insights on the effectiveness of job placements.
  • Foster and nurture relationships both internally and externally.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance reports.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to delegate tasks and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with management to define quarterly goals and objectives.
  • Promote a culture of respect and open dialogue within the team.
  • Assist in the recruitment and interviewing process for new team members.
  • Carry out auditing and quality assurance checks.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to existing processes.
  • Manage escalations from clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor attendance and team member engagement.
  • Facilitate training for new hires.
  • Support management with local pricing strategies and quotations.
Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in any field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in ocean export within a multinational freight forwarding environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role focused on customer service in the freight forwarding sector.
  • Essential technical expertise in ocean export operations.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong capacity for analytical thinking and decision-making.
  • Ability to swiftly adapt to evolving policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, with strong negotiation and public speaking skills.
