Job Summary

As a Senior Manager in our Ocean Export Team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to achieve exceptional results in ocean export operations. Your primary goal will be to ensure the success of the team by setting and achieving individual and team objectives, while maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor team performance and activity to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve clients by understanding their needs and providing feedback on the success of filling jobs, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of respect and open communication.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly reports on team performance and activity, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Hold regular meetings with team members to discuss task delegation, review issues, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, set quarterly targets and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Perform auditing and quality checking to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Handle customer escalations and internal issues, providing timely and effective solutions to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular attendance checks and provide feedback to team members on their performance.
  • Support the Manager in local quotation and pricing, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for clients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of any discipline with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in ocean export operations, preferably in a multinational freight forwarder.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role in customer service-related matters within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Technical knowledge in ocean export is essential, with a strong understanding of export procedures and regulations.
  • Project management experience is a plus, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions based on available information.
  • Fluent English (oral and written) with negotiation skills and public speaking abilities.
