Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the comprehensive quality function and be an integral member of the management team. Utilizing managerial expertise, the role aims to cultivate and uphold a Quality Culture by ensuring quality assurance and control through effective systems, tools, and teams to fulfill customer expectations while promoting sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of all products and services, holding the final authority for the disposition of non-conforming materials and products.
  • Guarantee adherence to all relevant external and internal regulations, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement, audit, and maintain the local Quality Management System while proposing enhancements.
  • Direct management focus on relevant metrics and actions based on those metrics throughout the organization, ensuring effective tracking of operational performance. Report on quality metrics from a unit perspective, analyze key quality metrics, and conduct periodic reviews to assess results and develop action plans to address any gaps.
  • Lead the quality function's Mission Control, actively participate in internal and external audits, and follow up on actions. Monitor and enhance product and process efficiency through an independent audit function.
  • Allocate quality resources for Quality Operations promptly and drive the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process across all involved functions.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor quality personnel in alignment with the organization's objectives. Maintain a Succession Plan.
  • Influence the business's bottom line through quality process improvements while managing the Quality department budget and controlling related expenses and investments.

Competencies and Success Factors:

  • Possess operational and quality systems experience, with a proven ability to design and monitor quality and regulatory processes and metrics across all production and service delivery areas in a fast-paced, lean environment.
  • Proficient in contemporary Quality Assurance tools (e.g., QMS, APQP, PPAP, SPC, GDT, metrology, tool design) and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize and apply project management and planning tools, problem-solving techniques, process improvement tools, and statistical methods.
  • Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement methodologies to support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Exhibit professionalism in interactions with both customers and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate a team-oriented and proactive approach to change, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Exhibit confidence in resolving issues and challenging assumptions effectively.
  • Embody the core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while caring for colleagues and the business.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in various aspects of quality management, program, and project management.
  • More than 3 years of leadership experience with a focus on talent development.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% (domestic and international).
  • Experience in quality management, operations, lean manufacturing processes, and visual management.
  • ASQ Certification for Certified Quality Manager is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is mandatory; Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Italian, both verbally and in writing.
