D-Orbit is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to enhance our MAIT engineering division. As an essential contributor, you will engage in the Assembly, Integration, and Verification of components, subsystems, and satellites. Your responsibilities will include the implementation and maintenance of integration plans and procedures, as well as providing supervision and support to our manufacturing team during AIT activities. Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in the enhancement and upkeep of existing Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) while also designing new solutions.

Key Responsibilities:


• Facilitate the mechanical integration of components, subsystems, and satellites in controlled environments.


• Develop and uphold integration procedures and plans.


• Design, enhance, and maintain MGSE (including equipment handling and transport).


• Conduct structural analysis to verify the correct implementation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).


• Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team for inspections, investigations, and addressing non-conformance issues.


• Provide technical insights to projects and products to optimize new processes and methods for mechanical tasks.


• Author and maintain technical documentation.

This position may require occasional travel to suppliers and testing facilities, necessitating the ability to travel as needed.

Requirements:


• 3-5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace sector.


• Proficiency in CAD systems.


• Experience with FEM structural analysis.


• Background in the design and implementation of mechanical ground support equipment.


• Practical experience in assembly and integration processes.


• Capability to produce documentation for both internal and external assembly processes.


• Quality-focused approach with meticulous attention to detail.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• Professional proficiency in English.


• University degree in Aerospace/Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS).


• Experience with PTC Creo.


• Proficiency in Nastran/Patran.


• Experience with PLM Teamcenter.


• Knowledge of composite materials.


• Understanding of 3D printing processes and design considerations for 3D printed parts.


• Fluency in Italian.
