About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced sales professional to join our team as a Technical Sales Specialist - Multiomics Expert. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading company in the genomics industry and contribute to the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic four-year plan tailored for the multiomics segment, with a primary focus on the proteomics market.
  • Expand and nurture the network of service providers dedicated to our newly launched Proteomics product.
  • Educate the sales team on the value proposition of multiomics, enhancing their understanding and expertise in the field.
  • Partner with multiomics companies who are based on Illumina NGS for read out.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing expert guidance to help them navigate the complexities of multiomics research and achieve their scientific objectives.
  • Leverage the Milan Solution Center to host events showcasing Illumina as the top partner in multiomics research with NGS, strengthening customer bonds.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in multiomics to shape effective sales strategies.
  • Actively participate in sales activities by providing technical expertise throughout the sales process, offering consultations on applications, assay design, and data analysis/interpretation.
  • Identify and assess sales leads, cultivate new business prospects, and develop robust relationships with key decision-makers within the multiomics research community.
  • Conduct comprehensive product presentations and consultative discussions to demonstrate the value proposition of our integrated multiomics solutions.
  • Collaborate with Specialists, Territory Account Managers (TAMs), and District Sales Managers (DSMs) to align and contribute to strategic territory plans effectively.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management, and service and support to ensure alignment of sales efforts with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility, establish thought leadership, and engage with potential customers.
Requirements
  • Strong background in multiomics (genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, and especially, proteomics).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven mindset, with a passion for omics technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, articulate value propositions, and drive sales engagements.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or a related field; Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Fluency in business English and Spanish or Italian is required.
