About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Johnson Controls, Inc. in the EMEA region. As a key member of our commercial management team, you will be responsible for driving revenue and margin growth, developing business strategies, and fostering strategic development and transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Growth and Development: Collaborate with country teams to analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop action plans to achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Salesforce Optimization: Monitor and optimize front-line sales effectiveness metrics to maximize revenue per sales headcount, and provide coaching to sales managers.
  • Business Strategy Development: Contribute to shaping the business strategy, including sales target setting, creating a compelling storyline, and preparing country-specific presentations for annual and long-range plans.
  • Service Business Development: Project manage the development of a profitable services business model, including maintenance contracts, after-sales support, and upgrades.
  • Sales Transformation: Guide the sales team through organizational shifts, ensuring process alignment across regions and maintaining morale and focus.
  • Business Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between different entities within the organization.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or related field, with an MBA or other relevant advanced degree being advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in sales, business development, or a related field, with a significant portion of that time spent in a regional or global role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the EMEA HVAC market with an understanding of customer needs and regulatory trends.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in achieving revenue and margin targets, and developing business strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in English, with experience in presenting to senior leadership.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel up to 20%.
