Service Engineer for Industrial Equipment

Renowned as the foremost leader in the creation of cutting-edge industrial machinery, services, and software, Applied Materials plays a pivotal role in the manufacturing of semiconductors, including Microchips, Flat Displays, and Solar Cells for Photovoltaics.

We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional support to our clientele and internal teams, ensuring optimal performance of Applied Materials' advanced equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate with minimal supervision, adhering to established company protocols and practices.
  • Oversee equipment performance and manage the supply of spare parts.
  • Execute and ensure all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance within specified timelines.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to equipment.
  • Diagnose and address hardware challenges by leveraging software and process data as necessary.
  • Conduct upgrades and retrofits on existing equipment.
  • Ensure the team follows the appropriate procedures and checklists for both corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Implement correct work methodologies and procedures in accordance with company and customer quality standards.
  • Proactively identify and respond to equipment issues and escalations.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with company stakeholders.
  • Participate in both internal and customer meetings.
  • Assist management in the operation of site service business within assigned scope.
  • Support field management in setting and achieving objectives for assigned accounts.
  • Keep field management updated on customer perceptions of system performance.
  • Take initiative to prevent and resolve customer issues.
  • May initiate projects aimed at reducing costs or enhancing uptime.
  • Willingness to work shifts as required by assignments.
  • Flexibility for travel is essential.

  • Explain technical concepts clearly within the team and with the support network of Applied Materials experts.

Computer Skills:

  • Basic proficiency in Outlook and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
  • Advanced skills in software, industrial automation, problem-solving through software analysis, coding, server administration, and computer analysis are advantageous.

Education: Technical Diploma or University Degree is required.
